The museum’s most identifiable feature is the striking crimson glass cube which houses five galleries. The crimson glazing reflects the surrounding campus and passing students along Terrell Mall, resulting in a kinetic, ever-changing facade. West of the entry plaza, the building transitions to deep charcoal metal panel cladding and three oversized glazed openings that recall the large overhead doors of the former campus fire department. The main entry features a pair of ten foot tall custom shou sugi ban door panels. The interior materials selected for the building are durable, raw and timeless.
