WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY - TAYLOR SPORTS COMPLEX

The Taylor Sports Complex was a Progressive Design-Build project that ensures student-athletes have a safe place to train year-round, regardless of weather conditions. The Design West-AECOM-Garco team successfully modified and reused the existing foundation from the former facility, known as “the bubble,” for this new building. The facility utilizes a custom-engineered metal structure to efficiently span the large distances and heights required for indoor football and soccer. It includes a full 120-yard football field, regulation soccer field, dedicated sprint lanes and jump pits for the track and field program, state-of-the-art lighting, and enhanced cameras, which will be able to capture multiple angles of practice. Translucent panels on the structure’s high walls bring natural light across the sports fields along with LED fixtures.
