TEACHING, LEARNING & ADMINISTRATION CENTER

This facility brings multiple departments together in the same location to better serve the students, staff, and growing community within the Richland School District. Utilizing 8 acres of a 72-acre undeveloped parcel, the building is a one and two-story building totaling approximately 41,500 square feet. The facility can be used after-hours by providing security for each department while allowing public access to meeting rooms for events such as school board meetings and training. While the design and construction of the building is not required to meet any specific energy or environmental standards beyond the typical building code requirements, our team embraced the opportunity to collaboratively work with RSD to craft unique high-performance design solutions which innovatively fit within the available budget for the project. In the end, our sustainable design goals developed a balance between the practical functions of the facility, operational costs, aesthetic qualities, and energy efficiency.
