BOYS & GIRLS CLUB PROSSER CLUBHOUSE
The Boys & Girls Club of Benton and Franklin Counties initially met in a nearby church, but due to overcrowding and an increase in student attendance, their growth required a new location. The Prosser School District agreed to lease the Club a former high school shop building, which is approximately 20,000 square feet. The DWA and Chervenell Construction design-build team collaborated with the school district and the City of Prosser to renovate the existing 1980 facility. Following a master planning exercise, DWA developed the final design and construction documents that addressed the needs and desires of all involved parties. The project’s fundraising efforts included both private donations and public grants. The facility features a designated area for middle school students, adjoining room for high school students, large activity room, multi-purpose room, commercial kitchen, and an outdoor basketball court. Additionally, the parking lot was improved, and updates were made to meet current life safety and ADA requirements.
