UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO - ALBERTSON BUILDING BASEMENT RENOVATION

The university asked DWA to help an Interior Design student group make their vision come to life in an existing basement of the Albertson Building. The group obtained the required funding to convert the underutilized basement into a study and commons area, and DWA created a space plan and executed the project. The area was completely sub-grade with no windows or opportunity for natural light. To create a feeling of openness and maintain visibility, glass wall enclosures were used to make private study rooms, various group meeting rooms, casual hang out space, and a tutoring area. Finishes and furniture selections made a seamless transition between the existing building and the fun attitude of the students.

Owner: University of Idaho

DWA excels in design and technical ability and cost and schedule control. They are collaborative in their approach and processes, sensitive to competing needs and priorities, and have always exhibited a willingness to be continuously available to the University as our needs dictate.
