FRAN RISH STADIUM IMPROVEMENTS

This stadium is used by Richland and Hanford High Schools and was in need of updates and renovations. The proposed improvements to the grandstands consisted of the reconstruction of the 10,200-square-foot building below to include 4 locker rooms, coach offices, training room, stadium storage, and merchandise sales. Other improvements to the grandstands included additional handrails, modifications to existing guardrails, construction of a wheelchair-accessible ramp to first-row seating, and updates to the press box. The materials selected for the locker room and restroom buildings are complementary to other existing areas in the stadium and translate the design intent while fulfilling structural, thermal, natural light, and weather-protection functions. Security has been improved with both systems and space adjacencies by providing ample monitoring for exterior visibility.
