ELKO HIGH SCHOOL PERFORMING ARTS BUILDING

This new building is 42,690 square feet and was constructed on an unused portion of the campus. The building includes a music suite with band, orchestra, and choir classrooms, six practice rooms, music storage, offices, theater classroom, makeup area, dressing rooms, and scene shop. The auditorium seats 840 and the stage includes deployable, lit orchestra shells that store within the loft space between the catwalks. Heating and cooling is provided by a four-pipe system using geothermal for heat with backup boilers. LED lighting is provided throughout, with occupancy sensors in most spaces.

Owner: Elko County School District
Location: Elko, NV
Scope: New Building

In my thirty-plus years of working in the Engineering and Construction fields I have worked with several architectural design firms on both new construction and renovation projects. Design West has proven to be cognizant of the District’s Facility Master Plan and the means with which to provide facilities as directed therein for the staff and students of Elko County School District. Again, I highly recommend Design West Architects for your architectural and planning needs.
