HAPO COMMUNITY STAGE
DWA designed a permanent outdoor stage facility to improve the park’s ability to host significant outdoor events in the downtown John Dam Plaza. The stage features a 25-foot-high covered area, an enclosed electrical/storage room, a performer dressing room with a private restroom, and an orchestra pit directly in front of the stage. Basic built-in sound and lighting systems are ideal for small performances and connections for a stage truss built into the structure allow performers to add specialized lighting, video, and audio systems to enhance performances. The audience area was excavated into a bowl shape in front of the orchestra pit and the stage configuration of the stage naturally enhances the acoustics.
